Sometimes, even with the best preparation and intentions, you drive down to Pre-grid and at the one minute whistle, the car won’t start. You could say the same thing happened with the First Annual IRDC Meet and Greet/Banquet. With all the best intentions, we hoped to gather as many racers and friends as possible and have a pre-season kick-off party with gifts and awards. Sadly, the transmission fell out, and we couldn’t get out of pre-grid.

In all seriousness, there are just too many competing events once spring starts and it made no sense to the board to spend vital club money on an event when less than 10% of our members were available to attend.

SO… For anyone who had signed up, you’re money has been refunded. And now to totally mess with your heads.

“Will the event be rescheduled?” YES!

“For when” you ask? “Same exact time place.”

“Did I hear that right?” That is right! If you were planning to attend, attend anyway. Just do it for free now. (And we humbly apologize for any confusion.)

This event has developed a serious case of the casuals. We have cancelled the vendor, and we will be BBQ’ing Hotdogs and Hamburgers. There will be libations, but feel free to bring something if you’re tastes are overly cultured.

We have opened this even up to Dobson Stuttgart VIP customers and AVANTS members who have a desire to go racing. This will be a party with a touch of marketing, to show people how cool we are. It’s sort of like a combined practice/qualifying session.

As I said the first time, if you want to see your friends, drool on some exquisite German Sports cars, meet Dominic Dobson, eat a burger and drink a beers, and hopefully talk to any future racers who are on the fence, please come down Saturday and hang out with us. Or even bring your neighbor who is always telling you how fast their Volvo is.
