🎾 Tournament Update 🎾

Over the past two days, our players showed incredible effort and resilience on the court!

In mixed doubles, Stephen Le and Iliana Alfaro opened strong with a 6-3, 6-2 win before facing the #1 seed and falling 6-2, 6-0.

In boys doubles, Cesar Gonzalez and Tyler Russell dominated their first match 6-1, 6-0. They followed it up with a tough, hard-fought battle against Granbury, coming up just short in three sets: 6-7(4), 6-4, 6-3.

For girls doubles:
Thy Vu and Valeria Tamayo battled hard, earning a great three-set win over Chisholm Trail (6-2, 5-7, 7-5) before falling to the eventual runners-up from Aledo.

Kathy Luc and Olivia Dao had an outstanding run:
• Defeated Saginaw: 7-5, 6-2
• Won a three-set battle over Granbury: 4-6, 6-2, 6-3

This marks the first time in my time here that we’ve advanced to day two—and the first time in 13 years to bring home a medal, finishing 3rd!

They faced Aledo’s #1 team, falling 6-1, 6-2, which placed them into the third-place match. The girls responded with a strong win over Granbury (6-4, 7-5) to secure third place. In a final playback match against Aledo, they came up short 6-1, 6-2.

Proud of the fight, growth, and determination from everyone this weekend! 💪🎾

🎾 Ridge Varsity Tennis Update 🎾

Today, Friday the 13th, Ridge Varsity Tennis competed in the L.D. Bell Tournament and came out on top in several draws!

Girls Singles

🥈 Kathy Luc & Olivia Dao – 2nd Place, A Draw
🥇 Thy Vu & Valeria Tamayo – 1st Place, B Draw

🥈 Devin Mounivong & Naiya Mounivong – 2nd Place, B Draw

Boys Doubles

I’m so proud of the work these athletes put in today and the dedication they showed by giving up a day of their spring break to compete in the tournament. Couldn’t be more proud of this group, and it’s hard to believe the season is almost over. 🎾💪

Ridge Tennis Update 🎾

On Wednesday (3/11), Ridge Tennis had JV2 competing. While our numbers have dropped to three players from the 10–11 we expected, these athletes still showed up ready to work and compete.

Erica Pugh won the consolation bracket in girls’ singles—great job staying focused and battling back! Our other two players gained valuable match experience as well.

At the end of the day, it’s not just about wins and losses. It’s about improving, competing hard, and getting better every match. Proud of the effort from this group!

🎾 Another Great Week for Ridge Tennis! 🎾

Ridge Tennis had a strong week of competition at the Richland Tournament, and our players continue to show great growth, toughness, and pride every time they step on the court.

Our JV team battled hard throughout the tournament. While we only brought home one set of medals, our young players gained valuable match experience and competed in many close, competitive matches that will pay off as the season continues.

Proud of the effort, sportsmanship, and improvement we’re seeing from everyone in the program. The hard work is showing!

Next up, we head to the L.D. Bell Tournament before a well-earned Spring Break.
