Here is a simple way to test any home contractor before you spend a dollar with them.

Ask two questions. Do you run a blower door test and measure before you recommend anything? And are you willing to tell me if I do not need the work? A contractor who quotes before measuring is guessing, or selling. One who cannot say no is only ever going to say yes.

That is the whole point of an audit-first model. Sometimes the honest answer is that your envelope is solid and the issue is minor. We say so, send the report, and thank you for the $99. Think of that fee as buying an unbiased second opinion on your own house, worth having whether the answer is do everything or do nothing.
