I used to spend hours writing. Nothing special; mostly fiction. Getting lost in worlds more exciting than reality - worlds I could control. There was always going to be somebody better than me, and I struggle with the comparing lives game. It’s a dangerous rabbit hole that I slip into time and time again. Then it became this muscle I stopped using. It became foreign and hard. Suddenly I couldn’t measure up against the work I used to do. So I stopped trying. That has been the biggest loss of my youth so far. The words and feelings used to string together so easily. I hope one day I can fight through the block and create again.
