Ash Wednesday gathering

Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent, a season where we can voluntarily join Jesus in his journey to the cross.
And resurrection.
Our Ash Wednesday gathering will be an opportunity for us to consider how we might keep company with Jesus in the pain of his betrayal and crucifixion, and more fully rejoice in his defeat of sin and death.

This week our reading and meditation is from Mark 15:16-39.

As you spent time with this passage, consider the different responses people had to Jesus.
How do you want to respond to Jesus?

Our text this week is Mark chapter 11.

As you read this passage, consider a couple questions:
- How important is it to Jesus that we are fruitful? (As seen through Jesus’ interactions with the fig tree and the temple, both of which displayed no discernible fruit).
- How important is forgiveness in the life of a Jesus follower? (As seen through Jesus’ instructions for prayer).
