Hornets Invited to Compete at 'Merica Night at the Zoo on July 3rd

Great Lakes Racing Promotions is excited to announce that the Hornet division will be part of the upcoming 'Merica Night at the Zoo on Friday, July 3rd, at Kalamazoo Speedway.

As part of this special leased event, the Hornets will join a racing program that also features the National Compact Touring Series, High School Racing Association, MCR Dwarf Cars, and Street Stocks during a night celebrating America's 250th birthday with 250 laps of feature racing and a spectacular fireworks display.

This will be a one-night-only opportunity for Hornet competitors from throughout Michigan, Indiana, and surrounding states to race at the historic Kalamazoo Speedway. Drivers planning to compete should review the official 'Merica Night at the Zoo Hornet Rules posted on the speedway's website.

The Hornet feature will pay:

1st - $300
2nd - $150
3rd - $135
4th - $130
5th - $125
6th - $120
7th - $115
8th on back - $75 to start

Great Lakes Racing Promotions is actively seeking sponsors interested in increasing the Hornet purse and supporting grassroots racing. Businesses or individuals interested in contributing to the payout are encouraged to contact Drew Jach.

Pit gates will open at 1:30 PM, with racing scheduled to begin at 7:00 PM. Fans can expect a full evening of exciting racing action followed by one of the area's largest fireworks displays as Kalamazoo Speedway celebrates 250 years of America.

Our next event will be at Corrigan Oil Speedway next Friday, June 5th, with the Ohio Wheelman, MCR Dwarf Cars, and National Compact Touring Series. We are expecting 15 Wheelman, 20 MCR Dwarfs, and about 30 NCTS cars. Also the Wheelman Juice Box Series will be here.
