Over the last decade, it has become a requirement for most students to complete community service hours before graduating. Some schools have relationships with a few local charities. Some charities come to schools and present their volunteer opportunities to the students. Mostly, it is up to the students and/or their parents to find those places that will qualify for community service hours. Chari

This is such an excellent organization to volunteer for! Great experience for everyone involved and truly makes a difference!

Hello everyone! Future 6 is currently seeking volunteers to become a part of our For the Love of Surfing program for children with special needs. We are looking for individuals or groups who can commit to joining us for the duration of the program season, and people who can commit to singular or multiple dates. For the Love of Surfing is held on Saturday per month from April to September. We have opportunities for both our Boynton Beach and Stuart program dates. Volunteers do not have to have surfing experience, but is a plus. If you or anyone you know is interested in joining the F6 Team, then please contact Erica, Volunteer Coordinator, for more information at [email protected].

Volunteer Positions
20 - 30 Watermen / Mermaids: Experienced surfers and water people who will “push” participants into waves. At least one waterman per participant. Waterman will be divided equally and distributed across heats. Each waterman will take a 30 minute break between heats, unless specifically approved by beach marshal to continue with a successive heat.

40 – 60 Catchers: No surfing experienced needed. At least two catchers per participant. These individuals will either wade or stand on shore and receive the participant from the pusher. The catchers will also be divided equally and distributed across heats. Each catcher will take a 30 minute break between heats, unless specifically approved by beach marshal to continue with a successive heat.

2 – 3 Sign-in: Assist with volunteer and participant forms, releases and waivers. Will also provide names of participants and volunteers to program director and operation manager to build participant/volunteer teams for each heat.

1 – 2 Refreshment Aid: Assist with serving refreshments to participants and volunteers.

Thanks to all of our volunteers! We appreciate everything you do!
