While it’s definitely good to move in the positive direction, the 2030 Comp Plan recognizes the big differences between the summer, official year round, and the wintertime pop. Stabilizing and increasing the wintertime pop and thus having more biz and places to eat, etc open in the winter is needed! To make this happen, Skagway needs to retain and grow the number of families with school age kids, to retain young people who want to put roots down in Skagway, and to keep its growing senior pop in town. What are the services and amenities these key groups need? There is a lot about this, including objectives and actions, in the Skagway 2030 Comp Plan. Comp Plan is out for public review now!
