It is with great sadness that we share our sweet resident, Mr. James Earl Swindell, passed away peacefully earlier this week. He went home to the Lord on August 24th at 87-years-old under the care of Cotton Grove Estate & GHC Hospice.

Mr. Swindell was born in Tattnall County and lived in Long County for most of his life. He graduated from Ludowici High School in 1954, after which time he joined the National Guard as a Medicine and Industrial Hygienist. He served for over 20 years before retiring in 1974, as a Senior Master Sergent (E8).

Earl enjoyed spending time with his family and researching genealogical data. His leadership in the family will be greatly missed, as he was always considered the family physician to the entire Swindell Family.

He is survived by 3 daughters, 4 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters, 6 sister-in-laws, & 1 brother-in-law.

Visitation will be held on Monday, August 28th beginning at 1:00 PM with services at 2:00 PM at Brannen Family Funeral Services. Burial will follow at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 8819 US 301, Glennville, GA at 3:00 PM with Full Military Honors.

Mr. Swindell was a giving man who loved his community! He will be deeply missed by many. We are blessed to have known him 💙
