When Wanda pulled into his store parking lot with her exhaust system dragging on the ground and bent shut after a traffic accident, Store Manager Jim Wright knew he had to help her get home safely. Thankfully, he had a professional customer who was willing to bring him some equipment after-hours. “We’re tight-knit around here. Everybody else was closed, but Haye’s Auto Repair was 200 yards up the street and he provided us with strapping to get that exhaust up off the ground.” Jim’s strong rapport with his customers and his body shop experience saved the day for Wanda. Jim says, “She was only here a total of 45 minutes, and she was tickled pink.”

Neighbors helping neighbors extends far beyond our local community 💙

This June, Jackson EMC linemen Brenden Brewer, Josh Nix, Alex Sohltalab and Ben Brissey will travel to Guatemala as part of an NRECA International service project. Alongside fellow electric cooperative linemen from across Georgia, they'll help bring electricity to families in the remote Ixcan region.
