Michigan Extruded Aluminum

The LME average in November was up a little over October, but we saw a bigger increase once again in the Midwest Premium which drives the Midwest Average price. To close the month of November we were up $0.08 per pound (rounded two places) on the published Midwest Average. December begins slightly up in price as well, so we will wait and see what happens as far as raw material pricing is concerned as the month progresses.

The LME price, as well as the Midwest Premium, increased through the month of September leading to a $0.05 per pound increase in the Midwest Average. Price for aluminum extrusions continues to stay elevated and it is anticipated to remain high at least through the beginning of 2026.

We did not see the major increases in price through the month of August that we have seen the prior couple of months, but the Midwest Average price did increase $0.03 per pound, leading to a closing number of $1.89 per pound (rounded two places).

Price for aluminum extrusions continues an upward climb due to the continued high price of the Midwest Premium which is driving a very high Midwest Average. The month of July closed with a Midwest Average of $1.86 per pound (rounded two places) which was $0.14 per pound higher than prior month.
