Running into the week like…

The sun is shining and we have one thing on our mind; bull riding in beautiful Jackson, WY. September is the ideal time for a weekend getaway and Thunder in the Tetons bull riding - Sept 18-19th is the place to be.

04/16/2026

Spring is flying by and that means Thunder in the Tetons is right around the corner!

We look forward to seeing everyone in Jackson on September 18-19th. In the meantime, let’s talk bucking bulls.

- Where do they live when they aren’t going to rodeos? What do they eat?
They live at home in nice pens or out on pasture! The majority of our bulls eat a grass/alfalfa mix hay, have 24/7 access to mineral (sooo important), and then get grain when additional protein is needed. Just like people, each bull has different dietary needs and so the feed schedule will vary!

- Do they like bucking cowboys off?
Ours do! Part of raising them is identifying which ones like their “job” and which ones don’t. We never want to force these incredible animals to do something they don’t want to- and once you learn their personalities it’s pretty obvious if they love it or not. We’ve had some that LOVE the rodeo atmosphere - the lights, the music, the crowd. We’ll be at home getting ready to go, and they are standing right by the gate, and as soon as we open the trailer they hop on. It’s pretty amazing to watch!

- Does the rope around their flank hurt them?
Definitely not! That rope is what we call a “flank”. It is a soft cotton rope that signals to them when it’s go time. It does not tie to any of their body parts, nor does it cause pain or discomfort. I’d compare it to your favorite running shoes, it’s a comfortable tool that you use when it’s time to be active, or in their case, when it’s time to buck.

We’d be happy to answer any other questions in the comments!

Jackson Hole… you ready?

The rankest bulls. The toughest riders. Two nights that’ll shake the Tetons.

Thunder in the Tetons is coming September 18–19.

Not your typical rodeo… this is bull riding only.
Faster. No breaks. More action.

This isn’t just an event… it’s the one you’ll wish you didn’t miss.

We’ve been getting some questions about Thunder in the Tetons bull riding so let’s answer some!

• Is it just one weekend?
Yes, Thunder in the Tetons is a one weekend bull riding event which will be September 18 and 19th of this year in Jackson Hole, WY.

• What time does it start?
Gates open at 5:30pm on Friday, show starts at 7pm. Gates open at 4:30pm on Saturday and show starts at 6pm.

• Is it family friendly?
Yes, very much so! It’s great for families, date night, etc! Kids 5 and under do get in free.

• Is it a rodeo, or if not, how is it different?
We call it a bull riding rather than a rodeo because rodeo encompasses multiple events and we just buck bulls. Bull riding is the most popular, high adrenaline rodeo event and Thunder in the Tetons brings that action all night long!

• Do we need to get tickets in advance?
We highly recommend getting tickets online in advance because they are first come first serve at the gate.

• Where do we get the tickets?
There is a link on both our Facebook and Instagram page that will take you directly to the ticketing website where you can purchase them.

We look forward to seeing everyone this fall!
