Hunt Elementary School is the only school to offer a balanced calendar year within the Jackson Public Schools District. Families have a choice to enroll in a school where the balanced calendar reduces the long summer break and simply apportions those days throughout the school year, producing more frequent breaks, limiting long periods of in-session days, as well as longer vacations. Incoming 6th grade Parkside families — don’t miss this great opportunity! 📚✏️
Parkside’s 2026 6th Grade Step Forward program will be held August 10 & 11 from 8:00 AM–12:00 PM at Middle School at Parkside. This is a great chance for incoming 6th graders to meet staff and get a head start on the school year.
Transportation, breakfast, and lunch will be provided.

Olivia Heiler, a 7th grade student who will soon be entering 8th grade at Parkside, was named the Michigan Middle School Winner of the American Heroes Student Art Contest! 🎨
Olivia was flown to Washington, D.C., and recently received her award during a live-streamed ceremony, with the Second Lady of the United States serving as the guest speaker.
Congratulations, Olivia, on this outstanding achievement! We are so proud of you.
