Our community was shaken by the incident at Slim Chickens in North Jackson. I want to first express my concern for everyone affected and reiterate that the safety and well-being of Jackson residents remain our top priority.

I am pleased to share that, thanks to the swift and diligent work of the Jackson Police Department (JPD), a suspect has been identified and taken into custody. JPD acted quickly and efficiently, demonstrating their dedication to protecting our city and ensuring justice. Their professionalism and commitment to public safety are evident in their rapid response to this incident.

This situation highlights the importance of the proactive measures JPD has implemented to combat crime throughout our community. From increased patrols and the use of advanced technology to strengthening partnerships with local businesses and community leaders, JPD continues to work tirelessly to maintain order and prevent crime.

As we move forward, I encourage everyone in Jackson to remain vigilant and to support our law enforcement efforts by reporting any suspicious activity. Together, we can build a safer and stronger community for all.

This evening, I stopped by to talk with our Street Department crew as they got ready to head out and salt the roads. These guys work hard, often in tough conditions, to keep us safe, and I’m so thankful for their dedication.
