An amended version of SB 2103 passed the House unanimously this morning. Below are highlights of the amendment.

📌 $5,000 Teacher pay raise for all K-12 public school teachers
📌 $3,000 additional supplement for Special Needs Teachers
📌 $3,000 pay raise for Assistant Teachers
📌$6,000 supplement for Occupational Therapists and Licensed School Psychologists
📌 Sets the maximum salary for school superintendents
📌 Corrects the holiday payroll issue currently causing a 45-day pay gap
📌Corrections to PERS Tier 5:
• State employee retirement adjusted to 30 years from 35 years
• Retirement salary adjusted to high 4 years from 8 years
• Retirement age adjusted to 60 years old from 62 years old
• First Responders retirement adjusted to 25 years from 35 years

Today, the House stood firm to revive a teacher pay raise that our hardworking educators deserve. With a unanimous House vote this morning, Senate Bill 2103 was amended to include the House’s original teacher pay proposal of $5,000. Now let me be abundantly clear as there has been a lot of misinformation about the other components that were in House Bill 1126, our original teacher pay bill. Yes, there are additional measures in this bill and those measures include exactly this:
