Acronym of the Week: LOI
After a company has identified a potential site or project opportunity, one of the next steps may be an LOI.
An LOI, or Letter of Intent, outlines the preliminary terms and intentions between parties before a formal agreement is finalized.
While it's not the final contract, it signals serious interest and helps move a project toward the next stage of negotiations.
For many economic development projects, an LOI is an exciting milestone in the process.
