🇺🇸 I think Boots on The Ground displays are one of the most moving and impactful things you can do on Memorial Day. Each boot here ( @fortadamstrust ) represents a person lost, and they have tags you can read to learn about who they were
🗞️ sometimes a number in a news article can feel insignificant. .. What’s the difference really between 2673 and 2784 when you’re reading about losses? But seeing it physically together, putting faces and names to it, you can truly appreciate the scope and humanity of those lost… Making it personal and human helps me connect with the purpose behind my work and feel the weight of why our home is worth defending.
🥾 However you honor Memorial Day, it is our duty, in uniform or out, to uphold the values and freedoms for which all this sacrifice has taken place. The right to speak without legal recourse, the right to be safe in our homes and places of work, the right to live free from religious beliefs being legally imposed on those who do not believe in them.
🌭Many people, veterans included, believe that means quiet remembrance, and many people, veterans included, believe that means spending today living life to the fullest and surrounded by loved ones. However you feel best gives voice to and memorializes those we’ve lost, respect others choices as well… the ability to respect one another even in disagreement is at the core of our functioning democracy, and what it means to be American. The glory theirs. The duty ours.

We are happy to announce the birth of our second daughter, Emerson Grace Bogue. She arrived on Saturday, April 9th, at 5:29 A.M. via an unexpected cesarean. At 41 weeks, our nugget took her time getting here, but our hearts are overflowing at her presence. We are so in love with our precious girl.
