Explore with T is a site to find walking tours in the Southern California area for both the local resident and the visitor to Southern California. The walks will vary in distance and there will be breaks along the way. We will meet in various locations. The tours are free and voluntary tips are appreciated.
Orange County City List
Aliso Viejo, which means Old Sycamore. Aliso Viejo is Orange County‘s 34th city and was incorporated on July 1, 2001. It is a planned community.
Soka University of America is located in Aliso Viejo. The University was dedicated on May 3, 2001 with a 103 acre campus and 18 buildings. It was a $250 million land and construction project. The University also includes the Soka performing arts center, which has a 1000 seat concert hall with acoustics designed by Yasuhisa Toyota. Mr. Toyota also designed the Walt Disney concert hall in Los Angeles. The Soka performing arts center was opened in September 2011.
For hiking there is the Aliso and Wood canyons wilderness Park which has 26,000 acres. For trails in this park, see the all trails app.
Other points of interest include the Aliso Viejo town Center, which has a movie theater restaurants, stores and the Grand Prix, which is a center for community concerts and events. There is also the Aliso Viejo library which is part of the Orange County public library system and was opened on January 31, 1998. The Aliso Viejo golf course became the Aliso Viejo country club with a redesign in 2005.
