Elevate AAPI at IVC

Mischa was an ELEVATE Peer Mentor in the 2025-2026 academic year, and has spent both of her years as a student at IVC within the ELEVATE AAPI program. Some of the highlights of her time as a Peer Mentor were helping out with cultural events on campus, attending APAHE as a student panel speaker where she spoke about the experience as an Asian American student in the LGBTQ+ community, as well as all the meaningful friendships and relationships she’s made within the community the past two years. Mischa is transferring to UCSD in Fall 2026 as a ICAM (Intercomputational Arts & Music) major in the pursuit of creating her own community there on her journey towards becoming a graphic engineer. Congratulations Mischa, and we wish you the best at UCSD. Go Tritons!

Peer Mentor Spotlight: Grace Pham was an ELEVATE Peer Mentor in the 2025-2026 academic year. Her favorite part of being in ELEVATE was being able to bond with her peers in the program, and the faculty supporting our community. Being part of the ELEVATE community helped develop her sense of belonging as an Asian-American. Now Grace wants to reciprocate the support she has received from the community, as she intends to engage in future research in relation to the AANAPI community. Grace is transferring to UC Davis in the Fall of 2026 as a Psychology major. Congratulations Grace! We wish you the best at UC Davis.

Join us at IVC on Saturday June 13th as ELEVATE is helping to host the only Philippine Independence Day Celebration in Orange County. The event is free and will be in Live Oak Terrace from 9am - 5pm. All are welcome to attend. We hope to see you there!
