The patent process can be a beast sometimes.... hence, the Patent Beast, a visual representation of the process. Here, our poor inventor wants to get his invention- his solution to an existing problem, out in to the world. But he doesn't have big bucks to spend. The unhelpful attorney tells him that it's no problem, because provisional applications don't cost as much as a full non-provisional utility application. But then the attorney proceeds to give him the cost of 10,000 dollars to file a provisional. Here, our poor inventor is introduced to... the Beast.
