Army ROTC is Leadership -
Army ROTC (Reserve Officers' Training Corps) is one of the best leadership courses in the country. It is an Army leadership and field training program that runs during your normal school schedule. When you graduate, you will earn your commission and gold bar of a Second Lieutenant. It is the best way to get a feel for the Army and still lead a normal college life.

Ranger Challenge is ROTC’s toughest team competition. It is a test of endurance, grit, and teamwork under pressure. Think long rucks, land navigation, physical trials, and problem-solving when you’re already exhausted. No shortcuts. Just discipline and trust in the people next to you.
How UCI’s RC team trains:
Ruck often, and progressively heavier

Build strength and stamina (running, calisthenics, functional lifts)

Practice land nav until it’s second nature

Train tired, cold, and uncomfortable, because that’s the point

Most importantly: train as a team
RLTW!

Purposeful movement, constant scanning, tight communication, and security throughout. Last Thursday Charlie Company conducted a movement to contact. This lab focused on advancing with intent and being ready to react fast and think clearly under pressure.

Branches and components locked in.
Every MSIV brings a different background and a different story, but the same commitment to serve. This marks progress, not completion. The standard remains high, the work continues, and the finish line is within reach. Proud of the discipline it took to get here and focused on what’s still ahead.
