From bad to worse during Christmas😩🎄 don’t worry! We got you!

This was scheduled as a troubleshooting call after a homeowner reported their EV charging outlet was no longer working. When we arrived, we found the breaker tripped and a non-EV-rated NEMA 14-50 installed for charging. During further inspection, we opened the main electrical panel and discovered severe heat damage and melting along the panel’s busbar feeding the EV circuit.

At that point, work was stopped immediately. We walked the homeowner through what we were seeing, explained the safety risk, and agreed the only responsible next step was to discontinue use of the EV circuit and move forward with an emergency electrical panel replacement. The new panel will be fully permitted and coordinated with the utility, scheduled for early next week.
