I had the honour of working on a recent book with Mark Prain, a founder and guardian of the Hillary Institute of International Leadership. My history with Mark is rich and rewarding and includes helping develop, in 2007. the purpose-led brand and core messaging for the Hillary Institute. The Institute is inspired by the work and legacy of Sir Edmund Hillary. Since 2009, eleven Hillary Laureates have been selected by the Institutes Global Board. With passionate humanity, scientific rigour and as champions of relevant financial and political investment, they also address the stark inequities of loss and damage, focused resolutely on our fragile blue dot and creating a future where we can all thrive Mark has authored the book The Hillary Laureates: Leadership that Matters, Climate Agency and Action.
The book features conversations with each Laureate that address their remarkable lives, and what ultimately matters most when facing climate change.
Mark requested I write poems reflective of each Laureate and a concluding poem that captures the overall poetic essence of their inspiring lives and work. This poetry is part of the book.
