There is nothing sweeter than celebrating someone who is so deeply loved. 💛
Recently at The Harbor, we had the joy of celebrating one of our incredible survivors, MD, on her birthday—and our staff and volunteers absolutely showed out! 🎉🎁 As she was settling into her new apartment, we showered her with so many thoughtful gifts to help make it feel like home.
MD was completely overwhelmed by the outpouring of love. There were happy tears, lots of smiles, and countless reminders that she is surrounded by people who care so deeply for her.
One of our favorite things about MD is her love for birds. 🐦🕊️ Whenever she's feeling overwhelmed—whether by anxiety or even excitement—she softly reminds herself, "Love Bird." It's become a comforting phrase that brings her peace.
Without anyone planning it, so many of the gifts she received featured birds. 🐦💕 Blankets, décor, kitchen items, and other special touches all seemed to reflect something so meaningful to her. Watching her notice each little bird and light up with joy was a beautiful reminder that sometimes the smallest details speak the loudest.
Thank you to every staff member and volunteer who helped make this birthday so special. You didn't just give gifts—you reminded MD that she is seen, cherished, and so very loved. Happy Birthday, MD! 🎂🎈🐦💛

💙 We are incredibly grateful to everyone who played a part in making our **Spring Survivor Retreat** possible! 🌿✨
Each attendee was able to experience a peaceful and restorative retreat at the beautiful **Whispering Willows**. 🏡🌸 Throughout the weekend, participants engaged in reflective activities, a dynamic workshop, a refreshing nature walk, and, of course, enjoyed delicious meals together. 🥾📝🍽️
It was evident that the Lord was at work, meeting each person with purpose, hope, and healing. 🙏💛
Here's what one survivor shared about their experience:
*"One of the most life-changing experiences Lighthouse provided was the survivor retreat I had the opportunity to attend. It was truly one of the greatest gifts I have ever received. The workshop facilitators created a safe and compassionate environment where I was able to work through some of the deepest setbacks and challenges I had been carrying for years. Their guidance helped me make meaningful progress in my healing journey and gave me tools that continue to support me today."* 💙
Stories like this remind us why this work matters. Healing happens in safe spaces, through compassionate people, and within a community that refuses to give up on hope. ✨
A heartfelt **THANK YOU** to the incredible individuals who generously donated their time, talents, resources, and space to make this retreat possible. Your kindness created an opportunity for rest, renewal, and healing that will have a lasting impact. 💐🤝
We are so grateful for each of you! 💙

A couple of weeks ago, we had the incredible opportunity to be part of a Lexington County Blowfish baseball game and connect with our community in such a fun way! ⚾💙
We set up a Lighthouse for Life table to share our mission of preventing human trafficking, supporting survivors, and bringing hope to those affected by exploitation. It was a joy to meet so many people, answer questions, and spread awareness about the work happening right here in our community.
Of course, the star of our booth was our giant lighthouse-themed putt-putt green! ⛳ It was a huge hit with kids (and plenty of adults, too!), bringing smiles and friendly competition throughout the evening.
We even had a special visitor—Blowy, the Lexington County Blowfish mascot, stopped by to test his putting skills and say hello! 🐟📸
A huge thank you to the Lexington County Blowfish for welcoming us and to everyone who stopped by our table. Every conversation helps raise awareness, and together we're building a community that recognizes, prevents, and stands against human trafficking.
We're grateful for opportunities like these to share hope and remind others that everyone has a role to play in creating a future where every person can live in freedom.
💙 Thank you for helping us shine a light on human trafficking—one conversation at a time.
