Basic Goods

As you may have heard Basic Goods is winding down. While it is a little sad to step away from any small business we’re excited for the next iteration of this space. will moving in November 1st. I’ve known the owner Monica Berry, for quite some time. And couldn’t be more proud of her personal and professional journey.

Building Basic Goods has been a refuge for me. It was a labor of love as I was emerging out of one of the most challenging times of my life both personally and professionally. Yes, this is bittersweet but I’m most grateful for the opportunity to have the store. Grateful that I was able to put ideas and energy out into the universe.

Words can’t express how appreciative I am for everyone that has supported this store over the past three years. I truly do consider so many of you friends.

For those of you who know me well, you know I’m already immersed in the next endeavor. More soon on that…

End of summer. Sorta/kinda the beginning of fall?

Starting today we’re having an end of summer sale. Everything is 20% off. But here’s some tea: we’re also working on a store reset and refresh.

Over the next two weeks the store will change…a bit. More of the things you love. Some new things we’re excited to introduce to the Iowa City community. As well as some things that we hope enhance the space.
