(To my q***r friends and family: I’m devastated to share this news with you. I hope you are safe.)

The Rachel Maddow Show reports that two gay men are likely included in the group of people Trump rounded up and sent to a horrible prison in El Salvador under the guise of getting rid of gang violence. Family members, friends and legal counsel confirm one man, a makeup artist, was abducted by Trump and the government (see link below for this report). Another man’s tearful plea is reported in the story: “I’m a gay hair dresser not a gang member,” he said through tears to his captors and assaulters. This is bow the reality for out-of-the-closet LGBTQ+ people like me living under Trump: We can be disappeared at any time by our government. I am less risk, at the moment, becasue I am white. I fear for my community members who are people of color.

Being disappeared by our government is now the reality for immigrants, refugees and anyone who looks like one of these groups.

Trump, Musk and the Republicans won’t stop here. This is what your friends, family, coworkers and neighbors voted for.

If you are one of those voters, you need to wake up. You’ve been conned. Do you really want to disapper us and send us to prison camps? Do you think that is liberty and justice for all?

If you are an ally, it’s time to start marching in the streets, openly challenging your elected officials to fight harder against these illegal and unconstitutional attacks on us. Please change your behavior to resist. We can fight this with our voices, votes, wallets and knowledge.

More of us will be disappeared before this is over. Please use every platformrm you can to resist.

I don’t want to be disappeared like the two gay men in Rachel’s news story. But that’s the now possible reality I live with daily. Betrayed by my own country.
