Nothing like an annual cytoscopy checking if cancer cells came back to keep you in your toes about life. Makes all the textures more vivid. Makes you check your priorities. Makes you lean in- let go- and think about why you’re here. What if you weren’t here anymore?

Finding the early stages of bladder cancer was an accident. Or maybe not. During ultrasounds when pregnant- the technician noticed growth in my bladder and had me check it out. Without this pregnancy- it would have continued growing unnoticed. When you hear the word cancer- tumor.. things go a little bit numb. Getting scanned was emotional because I remember my father went thru this- and how scared he must have felt back then. It was terrifying to think of my infant growing up without me. All I could do was start to prepare. I wrote emails to him. Took lots of pictures and video like I usually do.

The tumor was benign and had not spread. Hair dressers dealing with hair dye and smokers are most likely to get this type of cancer. I was neither. Later I found a link to Red40 which was my favorite food coloring as a kid. I thought the red popsicles, lollipops, hard candy, drinks looked more natural being red than blue or green. Joke was on me! Those food dyes are made from petroleum!

Anyway- so the cancer was removed. I’m a survivor more or less. And I’ve forgotten about it- until this (once bi-annual), now annual check up. To examine the walls of my bladder- remind me of my mortality.

At the same time- thru my quantum hypnosis- I know the lost pregnancy was my angel there to show myself these sick cells and save me. I know my dad watches and cheers for me from the other side. I know I’m here at this time in history for a reason that’s unfolding. For great things and I’m only getting started.

Do you ever decide to go down a different road just to see what’s there.. and then discover that there are 8+ flamingos living in the desert? 💗 I have so many questions.

I felt compelled to drive in and look around before the strong intuitive pull. I couldn’t believe my eyes. Then I wondered what my guides were telling me. Was it about getting my pink back (flamingos lose their color after laying eggs)… the postpartum process of reclaiming your energy, identity, and confidence after the physical and emotional changes of childbirth?

Then I looked up the symbolism and laugh and cried - it tied so closely with my recent astrology birth chart reading… i really felt the nod and support from my guides.

Flamingo as a Spirit Animal:
If the flamingo is your spirit guide, you are likely an open-minded, social, and emotional person who loves to stand out but deeply values your community. They encourage finding balance between socializing and self-expression.

Flamingo symbolism centers on balance, romance, beauty, and renewal, often representing a vibrant, social, and confident personality. Known for their striking pink color and monogamous mating habits, they symbolize deep love, community, and dedication, while their ability to thrive in harsh environments highlights resilience and self-expression.

Key Symbolism of the Flamingo:
Balance and Harmony: Their iconic one-legged stance symbolizes emotional and physical balance, as well as the ability to adapt to difficult environments.
Romance and Monogamy: Because they pair bond strongly and share parenting duties, they are potent symbols of love, partnership, and family.
Vibrancy and Self-Expression: The flamingo’s bright color represents living life brightly, stepping into the spotlight, and embracing one’s unique personality.
Renewal and Transformation: In ancient mythology, they were associated with the sun god Ra and symbolized rebirth, rejuvenation, and the sun’s life-giving energy.
Community and Social Connection:Flamingos thrive in large flocks (a “flamboyance”), representing the importance of social bonds, belonging, and working together.
