spent the afternoon singing some songs with an amazing couple, helen and steve at in south philly yesterday. helen and steve met while they were in school in west philly, and got married in 2019. helen suffered a serious brain injury last year and has been in and out of surgeries and rehab since then. they are working hard, but need help finding enough funding for home health care so she can be cared for in her home. i provided their fundraiser link in the bio, and would really appreciate if you are able to, to donate to help. i did. sometimes it’s up to us to care for eachother, and meeting these folks yesterday (they are so sweet and kind) made me want to do as much as i can. also huge shoutout to the AMAZING folks at magee, like allie the music therapist, and all the staff there. it was really busy and i know it is hard and taxing, but there’s an amazing spirit in care and it was alive in everyone there. also big ups to spike and for sharing this story so i could hear it. much love!
