Butler University Engineering- EDDP

To my EDDP family, I’m sharing heartbreaking news about someone who meant so much to our program. It’s with a heavy heart that I share news of the passing of Professor Emeritus Joseph L. “Joe” Kirsch ’64.

Joe led Butler’s side of the Engineering Dual Degree Program from its very first cohort in 1999 through his retirement in 2023. Many of you had him for Chemistry, met with him through the program, or experienced the community he helped build. His steady presence, kindness, and dedication shaped EDDP for more than two decades.

I had the privilege of working with Joe for many years, and I know how much he cared about each of you and the future of the program. His impact lives on in every class that came through EDDP.
