An Extra Hand

We love repeat clients who become friends along the way. We’ve had the pleasure of working with Ameet and Annal on multiple homes over the years, and they always make us feel welcome every time we come back. Never doubt yourself….It all started as side work after a long day of bridge and road building just to make a few extra bucks to be able to live comfortably. Then quitting my good paying union job with benefits to become a handyman working on slum lord rental properties and hustling gigs every day on Craigslist. That was a thing before town chatters. My union coworkers doubted me and said I’d be back eventually. I traded a tile and plumbing job for my first truck . It was covered in landscape decals and some rust . I made it work though .

I’ve done mulch , cut bushes, hauled trash , cleaned gutters, assembled furniture, packed moving boxes , and the list goes on. That’s how An Extra Hand started. I just did whatever to get paid to stay legit. I was literally giving my clients an extra hand with everything. I didn’t know much when I started and literally self taught myself everything along the way . There was so much failure and error in those years to get us where we’re at today . The mind is powerful if the will and why is there pushing it .

I’ve had people come and go throughout the ten years. There are many days and seasons I’ve wanted to throw in the towel myself. But I always remind myself that I’m not a quitter and that I just need to make it through day because tomorrow is a new day .

Honestly I never had a vision for my company until here recently this year . I was just using it as a source of income to become a full time real estate investor one day . Along the way I got good at serving customers and remodeling homes. Now I’m thinking differently and that the Lord has provided me with something special to manage and grow.

Now I have a super clear vision and direction to head towards that will help us serve our customers even better than before . Because without them there is no us. I know the next seasons will bring it challenges but I’m excited for the future. Change is good ! This season we’re making plans and implementing changes on how we move forward beginning with the logo and website . Time to let go of the past and my stick handyman logo .
