We are offering for sale 3 Offenhauser powered roadsters, including the 1962 2nd place finishing car of Len Sutton. Taking up where Frank Kurtis left off, A.J. Watson became Indy's premier roadster builder. The first Watson Indy 500 win was in 1956. Again in 1959 and 1962-1964. 1963-64 is when the Watson reached its pinnacle. If you are interested in reading the full history of any of these cars or Watson roadster, I recommend the book " The Watson Years" by Gary Wayne. You can get it (like everything else) on Amazon.

The Hewland LG500 gearbox, while large it is not difficult to service, this particular one is a challenge. Normally they come apart fairly easily. Not this one, the disassembly was a real challenge. A wrench has not touched this thing in 52 years.
