🥞 The Better Way Business Breakfast returns to Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Sept. 22, bringing business and community leaders together to support peace-building programs for students and educators.

🌿 Our Personal Peace Practices Retreat is coming up July 19, offering an afternoon of reflection, guided breathing, emotional regulation tools, and time in nature.

📰 The Indianapolis Recorder recently spotlighted PLC’s work in local schools, including a 90% drop in suspensions through restorative practices, peer mediation, and conflict resolution.

☀️ And our sold-out summer camps are in full swing, giving young people opportunities to learn, explore, build friendships, and practice peace.

reminds us that freedom is sometimes declared before it is actually delivered.

That is an important part of American history to understand.

On June 19, 1865, enslaved people in Galveston, Texas learned they were free more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. Today, Juneteenth invites us to remember that history clearly and to honor the generations of African American people whose courage, resilience, and leadership helped move our nation toward liberation.

At Peace Learning Center, we believe building peace is a daily practice. It means becoming more self-aware, building authentic relationships, listening across difference, repairing harm, and working together to solve problems before they become violence.

Juneteenth reminds us why this work matters. Peace is not just something we hope for. It is something we practice, person by person, relationship by relationship, community by community.
