The Post. Festival is about music. It is about community. It is about gathering. It is about belonging. We strive to make it an event of amazing music. But, perhaps more importantly, we seek to create community and belonging, without exception. We all thrive when the festival builds community and solidifies our individual and collective humanity. That is the purpose. That is the persistent goal.

Brian Kettell, who passed away unexpectedly in May, was, and will remain forever, a part of our community. He belonged. He contributed. He will be missed, but never forgotten. Please stop by the festival merch booth and pick up a free pin honoring Brian. Wear it during the festival so that Brian can be there with us.

Brian’s father, Rick Kettell, provided this moving tribute:

“Post Rock and alternate music comprised the soundtrack of Brian’s life. As a DJ and musician, and fueled with a passion for discovering new bands, this love prevented the scourge of disease from defining his legacy. Playing his Rickenbacker on stage at SXSW was a thrill, but joining the community at Post Fest each July sustained him. Becoming wheelchair bound, he soon learned that society fails to see folks afflicted as such. Not in Indy, not at Post Fest! Led by the vision, empathy and leadership of Sean, Nason and Derek, Post created a culture, a festival and a community in which he regained a measure of his humanity. You’ll see me this week, his Dad, old guy with the Bills hat, honoring him by attending as we had planned.”
