Cheating or lying in a relationship goes beyond just sleeping with someone else. It’s when your thoughts stray to someone else when you fantasize about being with them. It’s lying about being busy at work while finding time to talk to someone else. It’s deleting texts and calls to hide your actions. It’s the inability to look your partner in the eye or answer their questions because you feel guilty and uncomfortable. You avoid their questions but try to please them to cover up the truth. Cheating is keeping secrets and deliberately doing things that hurt your partner, yet continuing to hide your actions despite knowing the pain it causes.

People are weird. No one forgets when they’ve been wronged. No one gets to mistreat someone, lack accountability, and then get off scot-free. And trust me when I say that anyone who tells you otherwise is simply waiting for their moment. When someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time. Stay focused. No distractions. Know your value.
