Fungi serve a necessary purpose in the ecosystem and some forms of fungi, like mushrooms, may also be consumed for food. But NOT EVERY mushroom!
Please be careful when foraging for edible mushrooms. If you lack experience, then seek expert advice first!
The reported cases of mushroom fatalities has increased. Don't become a statistic!
Another California resident dies of death cap mushroom poisoning The state has recorded an unusual spate of poisonings from foraged mushrooms. There have been 35 since November, whereas fewer than five would be expected in an average year.
