Our mission is to feed, educate, and medically assist the deserving of Calcutta, India. In 1954, Dr. Mark and Dr. Huldah Buntain, with their daughter, Bonnie, sailed to Calcutta for a one-year missions trip. Observing first-hand the growing plight of India’s poor, they began to launch a series of compassionate ministries. Their one-year stay suddenly turned into 55 as their efforts grew into a lar

We hope you’ve had a wonderful , and if you’ve already made your gift to Calcutta Mercy — THANK YOU! We are grateful for your amazing compassion and generosity. Before we wrap up this global day of kindness, we’d like
to share one more story made possible through the power of giving.

Rish*ta grew up in a family that couldn’t afford education. Raised by a single mother with two younger siblings, dreams of higher studies felt far out of reach. But all of that changed once Rish*ta started at a Cry of India school.

From kindergarten through graduation, Rish*ta thrived — excelling academically and shining in extracurricular activities. She eventually enrolled in law school, boldly pursuing a future once unattainable and breaking the cycle of poverty for her family.

She’s also a vibrant part of her church and youth community, grateful for the teachers and supporters who believed in her.

Rish*ta’s story and so many others are all thanks to YOU. You have the power to create transformational change for the deserving of India.

✨ This Giving Tuesday, help open the door for more students to learn, grow, and
chase God-given dreams.

Calcutta Mercy | A nonprofit to fee, educate, and bring healing 12/02/2025

is your chance to bring hope to children of India who are looking for hope and happiness — just like Priyanka.

Priyanka lives in a highly impoverished area of the city with her large family of six people. Her father works as a daily wage laborer, often returning home with nothing to feed their family of six. Daily life for Priyanka and her family was already a challenge … and then tragedy struck.

Priyanka’s only brother was hit by a bus and slipped into a month-long coma. Priyanka was devastated — she couldn’t even eat, fearing she would lose him forever. Representatives from Calcutta Mercy visited the family and joined together with the community for powerful prayer. We prayed for a miracle … and God responded.

Her brother miraculously woke up and recovered. Priyanka and her family rejoiced and their faith in God was strengthened.

Please know your generosity doesn’t just meet physical needs, it introduces children to a better tomorrow through God’s eternal love.

🙏 This Giving Tuesday, help bring that same hope to more families like Priyanka’s.
