Artisans Gallery was founded by Michael Michlig in Bigfork, Montana, in 2001. And for over 19 years, Artisans has been proud to source and offer unique art and quality merchandise from all over the world. Whether trekking through Mexico or traveling to Jerusalem to meet with a long-time partner artist, our family is always looking for the next amazing piece of fine art or unique gift to share at A
rtisans. And as the story goes, Artisans’ expansion into Indianapolis was not an overly-analyzed, corporate business decision. Rather, it all began quite innocently with a visit by Michael Michlig in 2017. On a lunch visit downtown with his sister, Jennifer McDaniel, Michael stepped into Indy's Mass Ave arts district and he immediately knew it would be the perfect spot for the next Artisans gallery location. Nearly 3 years later, in February of 2020, the lease was finally signed on the 100 year-old building at 429 Massachusetts Avenue and the renovations began—transforming the space into a welcoming new gallery. And we can finally say that we are very excited to bring our boutique gallery to the 400 block of Mass Avenue. Our goal is to continue searching around the world for new and interesting products so that the experience of visiting Artisans is always current and fresh. With artists from around the country—and all over the world—Artisans' collection is comprised of extraordinary items that have been hand-selected by us, with something for both men and women, including:
