Happy 4th Birthday, ReCenter Indiana! πŸŽ‰
Today, we are celebrating a meaningful milestone: ReCenter Indiana is turning 4 years old.
Over the past four years, this community’s passion, dedication and shared commitment to restoring balance and civic health in Indiana have fueled our growth. Together, we are proving that Hoosiers are ready for a more centered, collaborative future.
As we mark this anniversary, we are also celebrating major milestones that are shaping our next chapter:
βœ… We hired Jocelyn Vare, our first Executive Director, expanding our capacity and impact across the state.
βœ… We launched a groundbreaking non-voter survey to better understand young voter apathy and the barriers that keep young Hoosiers from participating in elections.
βœ… We hosted redistricting listening sessions to lift up Hoosier voices and advocate for fair, competitive districts.
And we are just getting started.
Looking ahead, we will continue our vital work to educate and engage young adults, strengthen civic participation and push back against efforts that discourage voter involvement.

We are also excited to host our first major event: Advancing the Center: An Evening with Chuck Todd on August 13. At this inaugural event, we will launch a powerful new initiative to support the next cycle of civic fellowship and hands-on community engagement for young adults.

Whether you have been with us since day one or just joined the movement, you are part of the ReCenter Indiana story.

Thank you for investing your time, energy and voice in building a better Indiana.
Here’s to four years of impact β€” and many more to come! πŸ’œ

COLLEGE ID BAN RETURNS: 7th Circuit lets Indiana prohibit use of student identification at polls - THE INDIANA CITIZEN 04/24/2026

A federal appeals court has upheld a 2025 state law barring student IDs as voter identification, but only because early voting has already started in the May 5 primary. The Indiana Citizen reports that "the federal appellate court did not address the constitutional issues or determine whether SEA 10 created a heavier burden on students than on all other voters." Meanwhile, the Indianapolis public editor suggests the state could help boost Indiana's notoriously poor election turnout by producing a voter guide,* as some other states do.
