Green Spring Goods

Today is the 6th anniversary of my mom’s passing. She loved abstract art, handmade wooden bowls, blown glass, and interesting ceramics. I find myself like her in a lot of ways. As she aged, she would almost daily wear a red lip with smudged lipstick on her cheeks, a little bit of mascara and always some sort of turtleneck. Her idea of fun was going to small towns with even smaller shops and having a soup and salad combo with a glass of Chardonnay. High praise for her was when something was “out of this world.” She was smart, funny, and loyal as all get out to the few she held near and dear. She would give you honest advice and shut you down quick if she thought you were wrong. She could build me up better than anyone, though. Moms have a way of doing that for their kids. She could use her wit like a whip if she wanted to. I inherited that too…. I always thought she was such a bad ass for growing out her silver hair in her twenties. Her silver haired days are my favorite pics of her. When you knew she was owning it, big time. Miss you mom! You crazy, but I love ya!

Bud & Fran ❤️…. Two of the greatest people I will ever know… My maternal grandparents…. My aunt shared this picture today on their 75th wedding anniversary. I’ve never seen it before…. They’re in heaven with our loved ones while we remember them here. I relish discovering pictures of the people I love. My mother had a bad habit of destroying pictures she didn’t like and avoided the camera so I have very few of her. I love seeing pictures of them when they were young probably more than anything. It reminds me that they had a whole life before I got to them. I think of how much I’ve been through and evolved in my 35 years and wonder the evolutions they must have similarly experienced to become the people I knew. Anyway, I just feel very fortunate to have known them and have an ideal of goodness to aspire to for the rest of my life❤️. Happy 75th anniversary, grandma and grandpa 🙏❤️🙏
