Teen burnout is real. It can show up as exhaustion, irritability, trouble sleeping, poor concentration, headaches, emotional outbursts, anxiety, or loss of interest. Before jumping into problem solving mode, try starting asking questions like: "You seem overwhelmed. Do you want help with problem-solving, or do you just need me to listen?"
Sometimes, even with the best of intentions, we can overwhelm our teens more. Save this post as a reminder to check in with them first without jumping straight into fixing.

Body image struggles are not always obvious. They can look like avoiding photos, skipping social events, constantly checking the mirror, comparing yourself to others, over-exercising, or feeling anxious about being seen. If this feels familiar, support can help.

With the prevalence of AI growing, it’s important to understand if, when, and how to use it. Using AI for journaling prompts or organizing your thoughts can be helpful, but it can’t replace therapy with a licensed therapist. A chatbot won’t know your full story, read the room, or read your emotions and pick up the nuances of your actions. AI cannot replace genuine connection you can establish with a real and qualified mental health professional.
It can be a useful tool in your overall wellness journey, but make sure you have real humans in your corner too!

You do not need to earn summer. You do not need to shrink, hide, or "fix" yourself before you can enjoy the beach, pool, vacation, or a sunny day outside. Body image struggles can increase in spring and summer because of comparison, social media, and pressure around appearance.
