Last weekend the 8-12 Grade Orchestra students had an awesome trip to St. Louis for the Music In the Parks competition. We earned a big trophy for being 1st in the 1A orchestra division. The kids also got to stay overnight in a hotel and then spend the afternoon riding all the rides at Six Flags!! It was super fun!

Attention 7th Grade Orchestra Students:
The 7th grade orchestra students are attending the Middle School Mass Orchestra Day in Parsons, KS on Wednesday, March 9th. We will leave the middle school that day at 8am. This is a day where middle school orchestra students from the South East Kansas area come together and spend the day rehearsing, have a break for lunch, and culminate in a concert at Parsons Middle School at 2:45pm. Students need to bring $10-$15 to purchase lunch in town. We should be leaving Parsons at about 3:15 and returning to Independence Middle School around 3:45pm.
