Just when we thought the Rusty Males couldn’t get any more amazing.…

They stepped away from their own summer project list to spend time with our middle school campers, teaching them the basics of vehicle maintenance.

From changing a tire and checking tire pressure to topping off coolant, oil, windshield washer fluid, and more, these students didn’t just watch—they got hands-on practice.

What an incredible gift to equip our kids with practical life skills while investing your time, patience, and encouragement in them. Thank you, Rusty Males, for showing our students that learning doesn’t just happen in a classroom. We are so grateful for the way you continue to pour into the next generation! 💚

Week 5 made quite a splash at Summer Camp! 💦

Between swim lessons, water days, creative projects, life skills, Bible study, and a very memorable farewell to a beloved Vitamix, our campers spent a busy week learning, growing, and having a lot of fun.

Our swimmers are really making progress in their lessons with Huntsville Swim Association, and it has been such a joy to see their confidence continue to grow in the pool. They even took some photos with an underwater camera this week!

We also had not one, but two water days this week. Our older campers enjoyed an unexpected water day thanks to Tony Zaborszki with Zabco Products, and our K–2 campers had their own water day, complete with a giant inflatable water slide. 🌊

Tiffany Draper-Coles returned to celebrate the campers who recently pitched their business ideas with boldness. One camper received a $100 gift card, and the remaining four each received $25. We are so proud of the way they stood up, shared their ideas, and practiced using their voices with confidence.

Around campus, campers also spent time dancing, practicing karate, making art, reading, working on school enrichment, competing in Bible trivia, playing ping pong, jumping rope, and learning new skills.

Our middle school boys had a special lesson on how to tie a tie, along with conversations about etiquette and presenting yourself with confidence. 👔

And finally, we said goodbye to a very hard-working Vitamix that served our older campers well through many smoothies. Campers even staged a creative funeral in its honor. Thankfully, an anonymous donor has already sent a new one our way, and smoothie service will continue. 🥤

Week 5 gave us progress, laughter, confidence, creativity, and plenty of splashing. Here’s a look back at another great week at HLC Summer Camp. 💚
