With DeepSeek’s release last Monday, the AI world has been “shook” by the model’s ability to train with such a small budget and lower power chips (Nvidia H800’s). This ability to adapt, be nimble, and create something just as powerful (and possibly even better than ChatGPT, DeepMind, etc.) is a testament to how rapidly this technology is changing. In terms of national security - while we may not be able to adopt DeepSeek’s open-source architecture on many platforms - there are many other lessons we can learn from this development.

The Chinese keep finding means of free espionage (most notably – TikTok) in America. This should not require an investigation – these kinds of products should simply never be allowed on the market.
