Arizona was probably one of our favorite states - hands down! Specifically in Mesa, AZ, literally everyone was so nice. Walking to our car in a Walmart parking lot we were asked if our day was going well by a young family. You don't meet a stranger!
Regardless of that, we camped at a State Park that was filled with all sorts of desert life, and even the iconic Saguaro Cactus! Going to see these majestic plants has to be added to everyone's bucket list ASAP! The picture of the one I am standing with has to be over 30 feet tall!!
🌵Fun Fact: The highly protected Saguaro Cactus only grows 1-2 inches in their first 10 YEARS. Then they will not produce their first "arm" until they reach 50-100 YEARS old, and they can live well into their 2nd century and grow as tall as 50 FEET and may weight up to 6 TONS?! ❤🌵❤
While on our hike we I got snared by a cactus barb and that sucker was STUCK. I'm so glad we had pliers in our tool box and Justin was able to yank it out swifly.
Arizona is a place we would love to revisit and we highly recommend it to everyone!
