Getting your photos taken with your person should be an elevated reflection of your dream date night. They should look like you when no one’s watching. My favorite sessions are the ones that resemble a romantic montage in your favorite movie. Minus the violence, these two are giving j lo and George Clooney from Out of Sight, and made it vintage.

This photo experience holds extra meaning for me. Two years ago this week, I watched Tripp propose to my little sister on the perfect island of Culebra, off Puerto Rico’s coast. We were all there, visiting family in my mom’s beautiful homeland—everything Jas could have hoped for. Tripp wanted the sunset to paint the backdrop, so we pulled off the most dramatic stall of all time (including a quick snorkel moment at dusk featuring a stingray, a sea turtle and an octopus?!). The day already felt kismet. I snuck away to “change” and he took her for a walk along the shoreline. From where I was hiding, I couldn’t hear their words, but I knew the moment everything shifted. Her body started doing this cute-inquisitive thing—like she was finally realizing what was unfolding. He asked and behind tearful eyes, she whispered yes. I knew Tripp had exceeded all of sisters dreams of this moment just by looking at her. And I’ll never forget the cry she let out hugging us afterward— so genuine and pure. I am honored they let us witness such a sacred moment. I’m so grateful Tripp asked me to do what I love to do in joyful occasions such as this. Soon we’ll be reveling in it again as we celebrate them during their wedding weekend later this year. And I can only imagine that the proposal is a taste of what we’ll witness when they say “I do”.
