What an amazing night!

We finally made our way to Pittsburgh to perform for all my friends and hometown family. It was epic. Thank you so much to everyone who came out to support me and the show. A homecoming is always bittersweet but my spirit tank (and belly) is full thanks to all of you!

I know Pap John was there dancing and singing with us all. 😇

Wow. Just wow.

D’Angelo. I don’t even have the words. The architect of neo-soul. A singer’s singer. The Earth’s baddest band-leadin’ heartthrob. A student of the greats. A homage artist. A church kid from VA.

Personally, his music was always with me. My “go-to” stuff when I needed to feel something. He always delivered. I was so inspired by the guy, that when we couldn’t agree on a name for my baby boy, we named him D’Angelo.

The tributes will pour out. The covers and dedications will be legendary. He will have one of the greatest send-offs in music history. But this one doesn’t make sense. There was another record in there. So much more music.

Rest easy D. 🌹

It’s been a WILD couple weeks on my first national tour with Mania! 🕺🏼 ❤️

The excitement of a new city every morning and a longing for home by bedtime; goin’ from a thousand cheers and applause one minute, to the hum of a bus engine the next; discovering unique local gems or roughin’ it out at a roadside truck stop — I’m here for it all!

Most importantly, when tragedy struck after I lost my grandfather last week, my cast and crew mates instantly became my family as they gathered around me and helped me grieve. Each sharing their own stories of loss. All of a sudden it became a little easier to fall asleep at night. I cried a little less each day, and found a sense of peace I thought would not be possible until I made it home to my family in Pittsburgh.

It’s a lot for only two weeks 🤣. But thanks to all of these wonderful and talented people crammed into our little bus, my amazing family back in Pittsburgh patiently waiting for me, my loved ones in LA, all the lovely local crews, Todd and our tireless team in London, the promoters, and of course THE FANS of this timeless music — I can leave it all on the stage each and every night! 🥹💪🏽🎉
