Walnut Hills Blessing Box

It's been a minute since we chatted. Let's fix that. ☺️

In case you haven't seen it yet, we got the lights by the blessing box fixed up at last! It should be easier to find the goodies you need when the Sun is MIA. 💡

We want to thank everyone who has been dropping off items so regularly to the box! Every service time we've come in lately, it's still got plenty of food up for grabs.

And, just as a reminder: your trash is your trash. Take it to a trash can. Don't leave empty packages in the box and please, please, please don't leave nearly licked-clean applesauce containers on the ground beside our building. 🤢

Also... looking at this pic has reminded us that we did want something pretty on the back of the box. (See last year's immensely failed attempt to paint with cheap stencils.) Do we happen to know anyone who just might want to help solve that issue?

Dear whoever woke up in the past week and chose to cause inconvenience for the rest of us: Jesus still loves you and we do too. And truthfully, thank you. Because while we were cleaning the mess you made we got the opportunity to chat with someone from the community and invite them in for service sometime. 💕

In the future... maybe at the least dump dry beans outside the box if you feel you desperately need to cause a mess? It's a little hard to sweep them out with the way we made it pretty airtight to keep the bugs out 😅
Ideally, don't open the bag and dump them out at all, of course, but, you know. 🤷‍♀️

Just a reminder: if you have trash, please take it to a trash can. These are located in the square and at the library.

We know it can be discouraging to open the box and find it empty. This does not mean you may add garbage to the box to reflect your emotions. It will, instead reflect your character. ☺️
Next time, please message this page or post in the village group to make sure we know it needs restocked!

Please keep in mind that this blessing box is not intended to share clothing or opened items. Everything is meant to be unused!

If you would like to donate clothing items (aside from new underwear, socks, winter gear, etc.) somewhere local, we would recommend taking to the city mission, Branches Domestic Violence Shelter, clothing pantries at the high schools, etc. Thank you! ☺️

Thank you to everyone in the neighborhood keeping it stocked while we've been having service over at Huntington First for revival this week!

We've noticed that things seem to be slowing down a little. Some things are moving a little slower than before. Whatever the reason may be for this, we're still grateful we can keep blessing our little community! ☺️🩷

Also: our apologies to everyone who sent in messages recently. Facebook doesn't like giving us timely notifications for some reason. We THINK we fixed it, but please bear with us!
