Huntington is a city in the U.S. state of West Virginia. A major U.S. river port, the city is located in Cabell and Wayne counties at the confluence of the Guyandotte River & the Ohio River. The first permanent settlement, Holderby's Landing, was founded in 1775 in what was then the Colony of Virginia.
