was created for the fishermen and women who love catching fish on a variety of lures designed to slowly undulate just below the surface of the water, made of materials from bone to brass, that are meticulously shaped by jig artisans, which are retrieved at just the right speed in order to entice nearby gamefish into savagely striking these man-made imitations of forage.

“A tour de force is a French phrase meaning "feat of strength," used in English to describe an impressive, masterful performance, artwork, or achievement that displays great skill.” -AI
So, while this may look like another nice Jig upload from SurfaceIron.com. it’s really a tour de force by Gary “FishDog” Grant. His command of Airbrush techniques, knowledge of paints and discerning eye for colors are all on display here.
Another thing about a “FishDog” jig that they all have in common is that they’re all unique. They may look similar, but each of them is truly one of a kind.
In this current offering, the jigs range from some unstamped samples and good ol’ reliables to some really uncommon and even rare samples. When was the last time you saw a dual stamped Salas VAGY-OKY or Salas “AI” (how apropos). There’s also a bunch of Red Crab colors, which would be really handy if you’re going out anytime soon. Some of them are actually the sought after brass bodied type.
BTW, the two Tady 45’s are flat backs, for those of you that know what that means.

There’s a lot to unpack here, too much in fact! With one exception none of these jigs are currently in production. That exception would be the Salas Super 7X, but even that one has one of “FishDog” Gary Grants typically exceptional custom paint jobs.
I could go on and on about this selection of jigs, but I won’t.
The internet acronym IYKYN or ‘If You Know You Know’ is very applicable here. All I’m saying is that if you’re new to jig fishing don’t expect to see a lot here that you’ll recognize. On the other hand, if you’ve been doing it for quite a while, you can expect to see a lot of old friends here. Kinda like going to your 30- or 40-year reunion…

Cleaned up some of the rarer Salas original Mold Board Jigs, but left the adhesive on the back for posterity. Note most holes are undrilled. Fun, but I haven't figured out how I want to offer them yet.
