Today we received multiple calls regarding a possible distressed seal on Nantasket Beach.

Upon arrival, it was determined the seal was a pup showing no signs of injury. The seal was simply resting along the shoreline and exploring its surroundings. Whale and Dolphin Conservation was contacted and updated.

This is a friendly reminder:

🦭 If you see a seal on the beach, please do NOT approach it.
Give the animal at least 150 feet of space.

A seal being on the beach does not automatically mean it is sick or injured — seals often haul out to rest.

If you come across a seal that appears injured or in distress, please contact your local non-emergency police line or Whale and Dolphin Conservation.

Non-emergency - 781-925-1212
Whale and Dolphin Conservation - 617-688-6872

Thank you for helping keep both our wildlife and community safe.
